Profits

What are profits? Of course, when someone says profits, people immediately think of monetary gain – and it is correct. “Profit” is derived from a Latin term that roughly translates to the phrase “to make progress”. However, you must understand that there are two main kinds of profits: the first type is economic profit, and the second type is accounting profit. The first of the two types of profit deals with wealth and its increases as a result of an investment made, minus the amounts paid in the course of investment; the second type of profit on the other hand, deals with the price and costs of turning something into some form of enterprise (that is to say, to sell and distribute things to a market). They may seem similar, but the key difference is that accounting profits depend on more concrete investments (products, not ideas) than economic profits.

Either way, however, it is a good idea to have a good grasp of the basic concepts of profit in order to have a better hold on any business investments or business ventures that you are engaging in – when it comes to profits, ignorance is definitely not bliss. This is why we have set up this website to help you understand the many aspects of profit, how profit is calculated, and the way profits work. We sincerely hope to become the best profit information resource in the web for your convenience.
